Care Operations

SYMPHONY
Symphony streamlines triage protocols/scheduling, identifying missing data and precision oncology tasks.

The Problem

“Pajama time”—the after-hours work clinicians do to catch up on documentation—occurs not only after visits, but also before and during patient encounters. The pre-visit burden is often overlooked, largely because existing tools have struggled to reliably support it. This is due to limitations in earlier generation LLMs and embedding models.

THE PROBLEM

Clinicians and staff are often burdened by non-essential visits that take time away from patients requiring active care. Additionally, preparing for each patient visit is crucial, and providers take significant time to ensure that all the necessary information is readily available and summarized.

OUR SOLUTION

Symphony streamlines these critical processes by using OncoLLM to process patient- and clinic-level data, ensuring that clinicians can dedicate more time to providing high-quality care. Specifically, Symphony assists with the following tasks:

1. Implementing Triage Protocols
  • Classifying Appointment Requests: Symphony evaluates whether an appointment request is essential or non-essential, and provides justification. It also integrates into existing scheduling software.

  • Generating Referral Letters: Symphony automatically produces referral letters for patients requiring care in non-cancer care settings.

2. Identifying Missing Data
  • Analyzing Visit Types: The system identifies key missing data in the medical record likely to be relevant for an upcoming appointment, such as incomplete lab values, tests, or new patient checklists.

  • Generating Lists for Care Coordination: Symphony automatically generates a list of any gaps in the data or other outstanding action items for care coordinators.

3. Pre-Charting
  • Summarizing Patient Information: Symphony summarizes all information relevant to a patient's visit for clinical staff to review.

  • Providing Citations: Symphony offers granular citations to show its source(s) of information, e.g. providing the dates of the specific clinical notes that note the patient’s highest and lowest values of a particular laboratory test.

Our solution

With the advancement of generative AI and our best-in-class oncology-specific search capabilities, we now deliver accurate, expert-level snapshots on a patient's treatment journey. These insights meaningfully reduce cognitive overload for physicians and clinical staff—before and during the patient visit.

Pre-Charting Note

The system generates a pre-charting note based on the patient’s medical history and most recent visit. Clinicians use this note as a starting point for their encounter. It can be delivered directly within the EMR or integrated into an ambient documentation solution.

Providing Citations: The platform offers granular citations to show its source(s) of information, e.g. providing the dates of the specific clinical notes that note the patient’s highest and lowest values of a particular laboratory test.

Patient-level Summarisation

Our platform extracts high-granularity clinical and genomic data directly from medical records at the point of care. This includes staging, biomarkers, treatment history, disease status, and metastasis, with over 95% accuracy. The system also generates a timeline view that allows clinicians to easily visualize the patient’s clinical journey over time.
